Bridge Art Space presents a solo exhibition by Torwong Wutthiwong. The artist's memories are recorded in ethereal abstract paintings; faint recollections of memory are portrayed, but illegible. The colour of paint, weight of brushstrokes, tells a story and hints at the deep emotion of lost moments.

 

"Painting for me is like I'm writing a diary: my diary can read without words. My pictures might seem not to represent, or talk about anything. They are only the air that surrounds us, floating. The smoke of memories of what has happened. In the beginning maybe it is just a light that shines through my window in the morning, hearing songs, familiar melodies or some words from books that have been read."

 

Bridge Art Space นำเสนอนิทรรศการศิลปะ "kind of blue" โดย ต่อวงศ์ วุฒิวงศ์ ศิลปินสร้างงานจากความรู้สึกของความทรงจำที่ถูกบันทึกไว้ ในบรรยากาศและเรื่องราวของอดีตที่ยังคงติดอยู่ในความทรงจำ เหมือนการเขียนสมุกบันทึกหากเพียงแต่ได้ถ่ายทอดออกมาทางภาพเขียนนามธรรม ทีแปรง สี น้ำหนัก บอกเล่าความเป็นไปได้ของเรื่องราวและอารมณ์ในห้วงขณะนั้น

“การเขียนรูป สำหรับผมก็เหมือนกับการเขียนบันทึก สิ่งที่ผมทำก็คือ การเขียนบันทึกออกมาเป็นภาพ ภาพที่ไม่ได้เป็นตัวแทน หรือบอกเล่าถึงสิ่งใด หากแต่เป็นเพียงอากาศที่โอบล้อม ล่องลอยอบอวล อากาศของความทรงจำที่มีต่อสิ่งที่เคยเกิดขึ้น จุดเริ่มต้น อาจเป็นเพียง แสงที่ส่องผ่านหน้าต่างในเช้าวันหนึ่ง ท่วงทำนองคุ้นหูจากบทเพลงที่เคยฟัง หรือบางถ้อยคำจากหนังสือที่เคยอ่าน”
